Second Half Comeback Lifts Men's Soccer over Juniata

Box Score
Huntington, PA - The Mount Aloysius men's soccer team registered a come-from-behind 2-1 victory over host Juniata on Wednesday evening in non-conference action.

The Mounties fell behind in the 13th minute of play as Juniata hit the scoreboard first, but the visitors responded by unleashing nine shots throughout the half. Mount Aloysius held a 9-4 shots advantage at the break but still trailed 1-0. The Mounties broke through for the equalizer in the 54th minute off of a James Maddison free kick, and continued to put the pressure on the Juniata backline in search of the winning goal. In the late stages of the game, a strong combination play from Luis Miravitlles to Diron Duah to Jonathan Fernandez resulted in a Fernandez cross that found the foot of Graham Hunter. Hunter blasted in a one-timer for the game-winning goal with just over four minutes remaining.

The Mounties outshot Juniata 17-8 for the game. Goalkeeper James Eyre made four saves for Mount Aloysius, while Fernandez and Duah led the Mountie attack with three shots apiece.

Mount Aloysius improves to 3-0-1 overall and returns to the field on Friday evening with a road match at Waynesburg University at 8 p.m.
