Men's Soccer Falls in Overtime at Behrend

Box Score
Erie, PA - The Mount Aloysius men's soccer team suffered a hard-fought 1-0 defeat in overtime to Penn State Behrend on Saturday afternoon in conference action on the road.

The two sides each had a dominant half in the match as the Mounties outshot Behrend 5-0 in the opening 45 minutes before the host Lions recorded an 11-3 advantage in shots in the second half. Neither side could use those advantages to find a goal in regulation. The game was decided in overtime when a Mountie turnover in their own end led to a Behrend goal that slipped past charging goalkeeper James Eyre.

Eyre had a strong game in goal for the Mounties as he registered five saves, including two diving saves in the second half that kept the game scoreless.

Offensively, Graham Hunter, Joshua Devlin and Tevin Beadle led the Mounties with two shots apiece.

Mount Aloysius returns to the field on Wednesday for a conference matchup at Penn State Altoona at 6 p.m.
