Cresson, PA - The Mount Aloysius team battled but came up short in a 82-74 loss to visiting Medaille College on Saturday afternoon in AMCC action.
The Mounties trailed 35-26 at halftime and the Medaille lead increased to 14 points with 11:42 remaining in the ballgame. The Mounties responded with eight straight points capped by a
Julian Stover layup with 8:42 remaining that cut the deficit to six. Mount Aloysius trailed by five at 65-60 with 3:19 to go, but weren't able to complete the comeback as Medaille took the victory.Â
Josiah Jones led the Mounties once again offensively with 22 points and was strong on the glass with 13 rebounds.
Julian Stover recorded 14 points and
Azim Hutson scored 13 points, and
Tommy Pisula added a double-double effort with 10 points and 10 rebounds. Stover and
Trent McErlane each registered four assists for the contest.
The teams shot an identical 26-for-60 from the field with Medaille holding slight advantages behind the three-point arc and free throw line.
The Mounties return to the court on Wednesday for a road matchup at Penn State Altoona at 6 p.m.
