Mounties Lose to Division I Robert Morris

Box Score Moon Township, PA - The Mount Aloysius Men's Basketball team faced a stiff challenge on Wednesday night as they traveled to the Pittsburgh area to take on Division I opponent Robert Morris University. The Mounties fell behind early and were never able to catch up as the Colonials won the game 104-57. The Colonials won the game behind a record setting performance from Josh Williams who finished with 49 points on 16-26 from the field including a NCAA record-tying 15 three pointers. 

The Mounties were led by junior guard Julian Stover (Washington DC/Richard Montgomery) who finished the game with 26 points. Stover did the majority of his damage from the free throw line, making 18 of 19 attempts. Freshman Carlos Palacio (Bilbao, Spain/Phelps School) had a strong performance against the tough Division I front line, finishing with 12 points and 6 rebounds. 

The Mounties (1-1) will be back in action this weekend when they travel to Harrisonburg, Virginia as they play in the Eastern Mennonite Classic. They will take on Bridgewater College on Friday at 5:00 PM and the hosts, Eastern Mennonite on Saturday at 3:00 PM.
