Cresson, PA - Visiting Hilbert College drained a three-point shot with 0.7 seconds remaining to escape with a 65-64 victory over the Mount Aloysius men's basketball team on Saturday afternoon.
Trent McErlane had a shot from half-court that just missed at the buzzer for the Mounties. The Mounties still have clinched the #6 spot for the upcoming conference tournament and await who their opponent will be next Wednesday.
Mount Aloysius led by six points with 4:05 remaining after
Tommy Pisula hit two free throws. The Hawks cut the Mountie lead to 61-59 with 1:37 to play, before the Mounties pushed their lead to 63-60 after two
Julian Stover free throws. After a Hilbert basket, McErlane hit 1-for-2 at the line with 10 seconds left before Hilbert brought the ball down and won it.
Josiah Jones scored 16 points off the bench to lead the Mounties while adding four assists.
Tommy Pisula scored 14 points and grabbed 10 rebounds in a double-double effort, and
Julian Stover scored 12 points to go with six rebounds and four assists.Â
Prior to Saturday's contest, the Mounties honored seniors
Jourdan Lamberth and
Shaire Tolson-Ford.Â
Mount Aloysius concludes the AMCC regular season with a 6-12 record.Â
