Women's Basketball Races Past Altoona

Cresson, PA - The Mount Aloysius women's basketball team led from start to finish as the Mounties stormed past visiting Penn State Altoona by a final score of 80-56 on Thursday evening in conference action.

The Mounties held a 40-27 halftime advantage and pushed their lead to 20 points at 50-30 with 4:28 left in the third quarter after Alexia Servello hit a jumper. Mount Aloysius again pushed the lead to 20 just before the end of the period after Jessa Wright converted a layup with 36 seconds to go. The Mounties comfortably led down the stretch, pushing the lead to as much as 31 with 1:35 left in the ballgame, on their way to the win.

Wright and Breana Kendrick each scored 17 points and both dished three assists to lead the offensive output. Servello scored 16 points, and Abby Kulick grabbed 13 rebounds for Mount Aloysius. Katie Bracken had a strong game with 10 points, six rebounds, three assists and two steals off the bench.

The Mounties improve to 15-5 overall and 13-2 in conference play. They will head to Medaille on Saturday for a 3 p.m. matchup.
