Mounties Fall to #13 Shenandoah

Box Score Winchester, VA - The Mount Aloysius Baseball team traveled south on Thursday to take on the #13 team in the nation, the Shenandoah Hornets. The Mounties were only able to collect five hits and lost the contest 17-3, falling to 1-12 this season.

All five of the Mounties hits came from two players in their lineup. Designated Hitter Sam Keibler had two of them as he was able to single back up the middle twice. Junior shortstop Matthew McCourt collected the other three, while also reaching base via a walk in another at-bat. McCourt singled in the 6th, doubled in a run in the 7th, and finished off his day with a two-run double the opposite way in the 9th.

It was a tough day on the hill for the Mounties as 16 of the 17 runs scored by Shenandoah were earned by the staff. Alex Arone started for the Mounties and picked up his first loss of the season.

Despite being a home date on the schedule the Mounties will travel to Greater Latrobe Area High School to play in a double header against Thiel College on Saturday. The twin bill will begin at 2 PM.
