Mountie Baseball Loses Final Game in Myrtle Beach

Myrtle Beach, SC - The Mount Aloysius baseball team lost its final game in Myrtle Beach on Friday afternoon to the Catholic University of America by a score of 19-4.

Mountie pitching struggled as they gave up 4 home runs to the Cardinals, which accounted for 8 of the 19 runs scored by Catholic. Freshman Nick Lagnese gave a solid effort out of the pen as he allowed one run in three innings pitched. 

Offensively the Mounties were led by second baseman Jeremy Iellimo. Iellimo finished the game 2-for-3 with two RBI singles and a walk. LesPaul Buchko also had a pinch-hit leadoff double down the third base line to attempt to start a late rally in the 8th inning.

The Mounties complete their spring break trip with a record of 1-7 bringing their season record to 1-11. They will look to get on track this week as they are scheduled to visit Shenandoah University on Wednesday the 14th and host Thiel College in a double header on Saturday the 17th.
