Kuncher Nets Hat Trick, Mounties Win

Cresson, PA- Senior Cheyenne Kuncher scored 3 goals in the first 10 minutes of play to lead the Mounties to a 5-3 victory over Pitt-Bradford on Saturday.

The first Mountie goal came in the 7th minute. Jordan Gebhart passed a through ball behind the defense, where Kuncher was able to run onto it, dribble around the keeper and calmly finish. 30 seconds later, Kuncher struck again. This time Brianna Byler played a long ball over the top of the defense. Kuncher again ran onto it, collected the ball and slid her shot underneath the keeper. It would take a little longer for her third goal, but not much. 87 seconds after netting her brace, Kuncher ran onto a long shot that came up well short of the goal. She again took two dribbles around the keeper and finished with a hard shot into the open net. The hat trick was the third of Kuncher's career and put her atop the AMCC for goals scored this season.

The Mounties tacked on a fourth goal in the 12th minute. Byler took a long shot from over 20 yards from goal that looped over the goalkeeper, nicked the crossbar and went in. The goal was Byler's 1st of the season. Pitt Bradford was able to pull two back around halftime, but Gebhart put the game away in the 61st minute. Fellow senior Amanda Brancato played a ball behind the Bradford defense which Gebhart was able to run onto and slide underneath the keeper for her 4th goal of the season.

Freshman goalkeeper Lauren Davey made 6 saves en route to picking up her 7th win of the season.

The Mounties (7-0-1) will continue conference play as they host LaRoche College on Tuesday under the lights, beginning at 6:00PM.
