Men's Basketball Shoots Past Red Devils

CRESSON -- The Mount Aloysius Men's Basketball team hosted Dickinson on Saturday afternoon in their final non-conference game of the season. They moved their record to 3-2 overall, while recording a 73-65 victory.

Leaders
- Nate Christian (Accokeek,MD, Surratsville) led the Mounties with 29 points and 11 rebounds.
- Imil Britt (Johnstown, PA, Greater Johnstown) picked up a team-high four assists.
- Dan Conlan led Dickinson with 14 points.
- Ryan Robinson added eight rebounds for the Red Devils.

How it Happened
- Mount Aloysius never trailed in the game, as they got out to a 5-0 lead. Dickinson would come back to tie it at five before the Mounties would score the next nine points, to go ahead 14-5.
- After three consecutive baskets, the Mounties took their biggest lead of the first half, 13 points, with 8:41 to go.
- Conlan would make a jumper in the final seconds of the first half to cut the lead to 36-27 at the break.
- The Mount Aloysius second half lead got as big as 19, twice, both times on three pointers by Trent McErlane (Greenville, PA, Greenville).
- Following the second McErlane three, Dickinson scored the next 15 points to cut the lead to four, with 3:45 remaining.
- Mount Aloysius would outscore Dickinson 13-9 over the final minutes to seal the victory.

Into the Box Score
- Mount Aloysius shot a blistering 47.1% from three, including Christian and McErlane going 7-12, combined.
- The Mounties also shot 47.8% for the game, following a 51.7% first half.
- The difference in the game may have been from the foul line, as the Mounties scored ten more points than their opponents, despite shooting under 70%. Mount Aloysius went 21-31 (67.7%) and Dickinson went 11-14 (78.6%).

Up Next
- Mount Aloysius will take a hiatus over Thanksgiving break, following their non-conference finale. They return to action in the ACWC, on December 4, when they take on Franciscan in the conference opener.
- Franciscan will play twice between now and Dec. 4, as they take on Geneva and AMCC-foe, Pitt-Greensburg.
