Erie, Pa. -- The Mount Aloysius Men's Basketball team traveled to Penn State Behrend on Saturday to take on the Lions in an AMCC matchup. They fell on the road, 79-68.

Carlos Palacio (Bilbao, Spain, Phelps School) led the Mounties with a team-high 21 points. He also added six rebounds.

Nate Christian (Accokeek,MD, Surratsville) added a team-high in rebounds (7) while
Imil Britt (Johnstown, PA, Greater Johnstown) registered a team-high in assists (4).
- Devin Pope led the Lions with 28 points. Kenny Fukon registered a near-triple-double with 16 points, 12 rebounds, and eight assists for the Lions.
How It Happened
- The first five minutes played out to a two-point lead for the home squad, following a three pointer by
Trent McErlane (Greenville, PA, Greenville), makeing the score 10-8.
- The Lions gradually grew their lead to 15, by the 7:11 mark. The 28-13 deficit was the largest of the first half.
- Mount Aloysius would follow up with a run of their own, 18-7, to cut the lead to four. Palacio scored nine of the 18 points during the stretch. Behrend would score the final bucket of the first half, to lead 37-31.
- Behrend would start the second half with a slim advantage and slowly pushed their lead to ten, just under three minutes in.
- Over the following ten minutes, the Mounties outscored the Lions 27-17, to tie the game at 60, thanks to another McErlane three point field goal. McErlane was 4-5 on the day from distance.
- The Lions sparked a 9-1 run to get ahead 69-61, with 4:17 remaining. The lead would prove too much to handle for Mount Aloysius, as they fell 79-68.
Into the Box Score
- Penn State Behrend shot a blistering 53.8% for the game, with an identical 14-26 shooting line in each half. They also went an impressive 6-10 from three point range, in the first half.
- The Lions also outrebounded the Mounties 39-23 for the game, including picking up 11 offensive rebounds.
- Mount Aloysius only turned the ball over six times on the day, but were unable to overcome the hot shooting by the Lions.
- Each team had four players in double figures, led by Pope's 28. Palacio led the Mounties with 21, followed by 17 from
Julian Stover (Washington, DC, Richard Montgomery), 12 from McErlane, and Britt with 11.

- The Loss drops the Mounties to 1-3 in AMCC play and 4-5 overall. The Lions improved to 6-3, 4-1 in the AMCC.
- Mount Aloysius will finish up their first half schedule on Wednesday night, when they host defending AMCC regular season champion, La Roche, at 6 PM.
- The Redhawks have won their last two games, scoring 90 or more points in both contests. They are currently 3-5 overall, but all three victories have come against AMCC opponents.
