Buffalo, NY -- The Mount Aloysius Men's Basketball team traveled to Buffalo, NY on Saturday to take on Medaille in an AMCC matchup. They prevailed 62-57 over the Mavericks.

Trent McErlane (Greenville, PA, Greenville) led the Mounties with 16 points and three steals. He also made a game-high, three, three-point field goals.

Imrane Amadou (Cotonou, Benin) led the Mounties with a team-high eight rebounds. Amadou added five points for the day.
- Medaille's Jonathan Smith led the Mavericks with 16 points and a game-high 11 rebounds.
How It Happened
- Mount Aloysius jumped out to an early lead scoring the first three baskets of the game. They would never fully relinquish the lead, as Medaille was able to tie the game during the second half.
- McErlane gave the Mounties their biggest lead of the first half on his second three-pointer of the game, putting them up 13 (21-8).
- The Mavericks were able to cut the lead to five, before the end of the first half, as the teams would trade baskets keeping the lead between five and seven. With 1:24 left in the half, McErlane capped a five point run with a layup, following his third three-pointer of the half. The run would give the Mounties an 11 point lead, 32-21. They would head into the half up 32-23.
- Medaille would slowly cut into the Mountie lead, until they were able to tie the game with 9:12 left in the half. The Mounties would take the lead back, for good, on two McErlane free throws.
- With 4:13 left,
Enoch Quarcoo (Eastbourne, England) scored on a driving layup to give Mount Aloysius a 10 point lead (53-43). Medaille cut the lead to seven, before a
Julian Stover (Washington, DC, Richard Montgomery) three-pointer put the lead back to 10.
- Under a minute left, Medaille was able to cut the lead to two. During the final minute, Stover,
Imil Britt (Johnstown, PA, Greater Johnstown), and
Nate Christian (Accokeek,MD, Surratsville) were able to go a combined five for six from the free throw line to seal the victory.

- Mount Aloysius had three players in double-figures, with McErlane leading the way. Stover added 14 points and Christian added 11.
- Defense was key for the Mounties as they held the Mavericks to 36.2% from the field and 16% from three.
- The Mounties also took advantage from the chartiy stripe as they shot 87% (20-23).
- Mount Aloysius was also able to overcome one offensive rebound and five total assists to pick up the victory.
