Buffalo, NY -- The Mount Aloysius Women's Basketball team traveled to Medaille on Saturday to take on the Mavericks in an AMCC matchup. They were able to defeat the Mavericks 69-64.

Zoé Harding (Garrett, PA, Berlin-Brothersvalley) scored a career-high 19 points on 7-14 shooting. Harding also added an assist.
- Fellow freshmen,
Ryanna Hockenos (Ashville, PA, Penn Cambria), grabbed a team-high five rebounds in 22 minutes.

Machala Gibbons (Cairnbrook, PA, Bishop McCort) registered a game-high and season-high eight assists for the Mounties.
- For Medaille, Morgan Kennedy and Katherine Willett scored 19 points each. Erin Hardick picked up 6 assists for the Mavs.
How It Happened
- Mount Aloysius hit five threes in the first quarter, en route to a 19-13 lead.
Hannah Kitko (Houtzdale, PA, Moshannon Valley) and
Lea Sammarco (Patton, PA, Bishop Carroll) each made two of the five threes, with Gibbons adding the other.
- The Mounties lead would get cut to six early in the second quarter, before they went on a 6-0 run to push it back to 12. The run included a
Rachel Robinson (Leola, PA, Conestoga Valley) three-pointer, a Harding jumper, and was capped off by an
Emma Kitko (Houtzdale, PA, Moshannon Valley) free throw.
- With 1:27 left, Medaille cut the lead to 28-24. The Mounties would go on another 7-0 run to end the half, including five points from Harding, to head into halftime up 35-24.
- The third quarter ended up being very even, with neither team scoring more than five points in a row. Hockenos scored six of her 11 points in the first five minutes of the quarter.
- With 4:19 left in the period, Robinson made a three-pointer, then followed that up with another basket to put the Mounties back up 12.
- Each team only scored one basket in the final three and a half minutes of the quarter, keeping the deficit at 12 (53-41).
- Mount Aloysius opened the quarter on a 10-2 run. Harding,
Emma Kitko, and Robinson all scored during the run, with Kitko and Harding each hitting from three-point range.
- Medaille would come storming back on a 19-1 run to cut the lead to two points, with 56 seconds left to play.
- Harding would go three for four from the free throw line and Hockenos added a layup in the final minute to secure the five-point victory.
Into the Box Score
- The Mounties had four players score in double figures, with Harding's 19, Hockenos and Sammarco added 11, and Robinson bucketed 10.
- There were also six different Mounties that made a three in the game, with four of them making at least two. Sammarco led in that category as she went 3-6 from deep.
- Mount Aloysius shot 45.5% from the field and 38% from three for the game, while they held the Mavericks to 38.6% and 25%.
- The Mounties also had 18 assists for the game, assisting on 72% of their total field goals.

- Mount Aloysius will return to action on the road, Wednesday, when they travel to Penn State Altoona, to take on the rival-Lions. The game will be part of a Men's/Women's double-header, starting at 6 PM. The women's game will follow the men's game.
