Altoona, PA- The Mount Aloysius Men's Tennis team picked up its 4th win of the season on Saturday, defeating Geneva 7-2.
The Mounties were strong again in doubles, picking up two of the 3 available points.
Matt Blose (Punxsutwney, PA/Punxsutawney) and
Nick Goldyn (Sidman,PA/Forest Hills) picked up another win at #1 doubles, by a score of 8-4. At the second pairing,
Cole Kazmierczyk (Johnstown,PA/Richland) and
Dylan Matta (Pittsburgh, PA/Plum) dominated their opponents, shutting them out for a 8-0 victory.
The Mounties were also able to take the first 5 singles matches. Kazmierczyk won the match of the day in tiebreaking fashion. After splitting the first two sets 6-4, 4-6, Cole battled through cramps in his racket hand to outlast his opponent and win the tie breaker 10-5. Blose and Goldyn had strong matches, winning 6-2,6-1 and 6-0, 6-2 respectively. Finally Christ Godet (Nassau, Bahamas/Queen's College) picked up a strong wint at the fifth position, winning 6-3,6-3.
The Mounties record is now 4-0. They will return to action tomorrow, when they take on Juniata College at 11:00AM.
