Cresson -- The Mount Aloysius Men's Basketball team played host to D'Youville College on Wednesday afternoon in the Athletic, Convocation and Wellness Center. They prevailed with a 15 point victory over the Spartans.

Carlos Palacio (Bilbao, Spain, Phelps School) led the Mounties with a double-double, consisting of 24 points and 11 rebounds. Palacio was an impressive 11-19 from the field and 2-4 from three point range.

Nate Christian (Accokeek,MD, Surratsville) also added 18 points and nine rebounds for Mount Aloysius, while shooting 7-15.

Imil Britt (Johnstown, PA, Greater Johnstown) contributed a game-high five assists in 22 minutes off the bench for the Mounties.
- Grant Beyer stuffed the stat sheet for the Spartans, picking up 17 points, nine rebounds, and four steals.
How It Happened
- Mount Aloysius jumped out of the gate to score the first six points of the game, capped by a basket by
Azim Hutson (Orlando, FL, Ocoee).
- D'Youville would go ahead for their only lead of the game, 8-7, on a Juan Miguel Rosales bucket. The Mounties would follow that with a 9-0 run to get an eight point spread.
- The Spartans were able to cut the lead back to one, with just over a minute left in the half, before heading into the locker room trailing, 39-37.
- After giving up the first basket of the half, the Mounties went on 12-0 run, giving them a 51-39 lead. Following two Brian Sharp free throws for DYC, the Mounties would score four more points, pushing the lead to 14.
- Mount Aloysius led by as much as 21, with just over two minutes to go in the game. In the closing minutes, D'Youville would score a couple baskets getting the game back to the final, 75-60.
Into the Box Score
- Mount Aloysius shot an impressive 46% from the field, despite only making three, three-point field goals, on 18 attempts.
- They also held their opponents to 33% shooting and forced them to commit 19 turnovers.
- D'Youville picked up two technicals during play, both attributed to delay-of-game restrictions.
- The Mounties owned the glass, outrebounding the Spartans by ten overall, and grabbing 12 total offensive rebounds resulting in 17 second chance points.
