Bradford, Pa. -- The Mount Aloysius Women's Basketball team traveled to Pitt-Bradford on Saturday afternoon, to take on the Panthers. They fell to the Panthers, 59-55, thanks to a large UPB fourth quarter.

Lea Sammarco (Patton, PA, Bishop Carroll) led the Mounties with 14 points and eight rebounds, both team-highs.

Rachel Robinson (Leola, PA, Conestoga Valley) dished out a game-high, five assists, and registered five steals.
- Shirleah Ragin led the Panthers, with 22 points. They had multiple players with double-digit rebounds, led by Shaelyn Snipes with 11.
How It Happened
- The Mounties started the game by scoring the first seven points. They would hold the lead for the rest of the quarter.
- A Sammarco three with just under two minutes remaining in the first, gave the Mounties their largest lead, 19-8. The Panthers scored the final four points of the period, cutting the lead back to seven.
- Pitt-Bradford continued the scoring in the second quarter, with nine of the first 11, tying the game at 21.
- Mount Aloysius followed the run with one of their own, scoring seven of the last nine, taking the game to the half, ahead 29-23.
- The third quarter saw similar stretches to the second. The game stayed close as the Mounties held a 12-10 advantage in the period. It sent the game to the final period, with the Mounties ahead by 7.
- A 9-4 Panther advantage over the first three minutes of the quarter cut the Mountie lead to one. The run was ended whenÂ
Carly Stigers (Beaverdale, PA, Forest Hills) hit a three pointer, giving the Mounties a four point advantage.
- Pitt-Bradford went on to score the next nine, unanswered, to take a five point lead, with 2:24 remaining.
- Mount Aloysius was able to cut the lead to one, on twoÂ
Kourtney Walls (Salix, PA, Forest Hills) free throws, with 1:10 remaining.
- Over the closing minute, the Mounties were outscored 6-3. All six points were scored for the Panthers at the free throw line.
Into the Box Score
- The Panthers outrebounded the Mounties by 18, as they tallied an equal number of offensive to defensive rebounds.
- Due to the large rebounding advantage, the Mounties shot a better percentage (32% to 27%) but the Panthers took 23 more shots for the game.
