CRESSON, Pa. -- The Mount Aloysius Women's Volleyball team hosted their annual Pink Out night, on Wednesday night, as they had a matchup against La Roche. The Mounties fell, 3-1.

Ashlee Parrish (Northern Cambria, PA, Northern Cambria) led the Mounties with 10 kills. She also added 19 digs.

Matie Rupp (York, PA, West York) had two aces and 20 digs.

Hannah Atzeni (Sligo, PA, Union), led the Mounties with 15 assists.
How It Happened
- The first set was a back and forth affair, as neither team had a lead larger than three points.
- Mount Aloysius led 24-21, before giving up two points, making it 24-23. However,Â
Kiersten Szpala (Ebensburg, PA, Central Cambria) ended the set with a kill, giving the Mounties a 1-0 advantage.
- Set number two started similarly, with both teams trading the lead. La Roche took advantage, near the mid-way point, getting out to a 16-12 advantage.
- La Roche outscored Mount Aloysius 9-7, to win the set 25-19, tying the match at one set a piece.
- In the third set, neither team had more than a two point advantage, until the Mounties score seven out of eight, to get a 21-15 lead.
- La Roche would storm back, scoring 11 of the final 14 points, including five of the last six, to win the set 26-24. The win gave the Redhawks a 2-1 advantage in the game.
- During the final set, the match went back and forth, as it had all night, this time with larger runs. Each team put together four-plus point stretches.
- After another Szpala kill tied the game at 21, La Roche would score four of the final five points, ending the match.
Into the Box Score
- La Roche held a slight advantage in kills, with 45, compared to the Mounties' 40 kills.
- Both teams had their best hitting set of the night, in the second set.
- La Roche's defense proved to be a difference, as they had eight blocks compared to only three for the Mounties.

- Mount Aloysius will travel to Medaille, on Saturday, to take on the Mavericks.
- Medaille is 1-4 in the AMCC, this season. They carry a 4-14 overall record.
