EBENSBURG, Pa. -- The Mount Aloysius Women's Tennis team suffered three consecutive losses over the weekend. Two of the losses came to AMCC opponents.
Friday (at Juniata)
The Mounties were blanked by the Eagles, falling 9-0.
Saturday (vs. Penn State Behrend)
Mount Aloysius also fell to the Lions, 9-0. Their best chance at a point came in the #2 Doubles match. The duo ofÂ
Allison Brooks (Martinsburg, PA, Central)Â andÂ
Sarah Jane Rathmell (Renovo, PA, Bucktail) put up a strong fight, but ultimately dropped the match, 8-6.
Sunday (vs. Pitt-Greensburg)
On Sunday, the Mounties dropped their third consecutive AMCC match, with an 8-1 defeat. Rathmell earned the lone point for Mount Aloysius, as she won at #3 Singles, 6-2, 6-2.Â
Kierra Mountain (Roaring Spring, PA, Central) andÂ
Kendra Sines (Somerset, PA, Somerset) lost a hard-fought match at #1 Doubles, 8-4. Sunday's match was the first match of the season that the Mounties competed in all nine slots.
Mount Aloysius is set to play a non-conference match, next Saturday, at home against Lancaster Bible. They are currently done with their AMCC calendar, but will wait to see what their playoff fate will be. Please check the schedule page for future details.
