CRESSON, Pa. -- On Monday, the NCAA held their Division III Men's Soccer Selection Show, announcing the 64 teams that made the tournament, as well as the matchups and weekend pods. Mount Aloysius is set to travel to Messiah, where they will take on the hosts in the first round.
By virtue of winning the AMCC Tournament, Mount Aloysius earned the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament. Ahead of Monday's announcement, the team knew they would be playing this coming weekend, but did not know where or when.
They were placed in the first/second round pod, hosted by Messiah. The Mounties were also matched up against the 8th-ranked Falcons in the first round. The teams will meet, on Saturday, at 1:00 p.m. Saturday's winner will move on to play the winner of 14th-ranked, Kenyon, and Catholic, on Sunday.
2021 is the second appearance for Mount Aloysius in program history. Their other appearance came in 2015, after they won their first AMCC Championship. The Mounties fell to Calvin, 1-0, making them 0-1 all-time in the NCAA Tournament.
