CRESSON, Pa. -- On Saturday, the Mount Aloysius Women's Soccer team played host to the Waynesburg Yellow Jackets, as part of a Men's and Women's doubleheader. The Mounties ended up falling in the women's game, 1-0.

Leaders
- Kourtney Walls (Salix, PA, Forest Hills) led the Mounties with four shots.
- Lauren Davey (Leonardtown, MD, St. Mary's Ryken) had a game-high, five saves.

How It Happened
- Waynesburg seemed to control the ball for much of the first half, as they forced Davey to make four saves in the period.
- With just over four minutes to go in the half, Waynesburg's Leah Vinay found Haley Frizzell, with a pass inside the box, for a short shot. Frizzell got it by Davey, to put the Yellow Jackets ahead, 1-0.
- The tide seemed to turn, in the second half, as Mount Aloysius had scoring opportunities, but were unable to find the back of the net.

Into the Box Score
- Much of the game was played evenly. Both teams attempted roughly the same number of shots, 13-11.
- Mount Aloysius did play a more physical game, as they committed nine fouls, compared to only two Yellow Jacket fouls.

Up Next
- The Mounties will travel to Bethany, on Wednesday, for a 4 p.m. date with the Bison.
- Mount Aloysius has won the previous two meetings between the squads, including a 2-1 victory, back in 2019.
- Bethany is currently 3-0 on the season.
