CRESSON, Pa. -- The 2021-22 athletic year is in full swing with fall sports underway. In getting ready for winter, the Mount Aloysius Women's Basketball program has released their schedule. While they were only able to play six games in the spring, they are poised to play a full, 25-game schedule this coming season.
The non-conference portion of the schedule has a few opponents that are normally on the docket, as well as a few new and unfamiliar foes. The women begin the year with a road game at former AMCC-member, Franciscan, on November 10. They also play a non-conference road game at Indiana (Pa.) on November 17, for Education Day. The game is scheduled for 11 a.m.
Mount Aloysius is scheduled to host Allegheny (Nov 29), Chatham (Nov 23), and Penn College (Jan 3), in single, non-conference home games, in the ACWC.
Two non-conference tournaments round out the schedule for the Mounties. They are set to co-host the Mountain Valley Tip-Off Classic, with Penn State Altoona. Each school will host one day of the classic, swapping opponents between the days. Adrian and SUNY Geneseo are the opponents, with Mount Aloysius playing SUNY Geneseo on Friday night at Penn State Altoona, then hosting Adrian on Saturday. The Mounties will then travel to Ohio Wesleyan on Decemeber 29 and 30 for the Bishop Classic. They are set to play both Mount Union and Wilmington (Ohio).
AMCC play will open up on December 4, when the Mounties travel to Penn State Behrend. They will also play Alfred State, Medaille, and Penn State Altoona before Christmas Break. Following the holidays, conference play will open back up with Pitt-Bradford on January 5.
Each conference opponent will appear twice on the schedule, both home and away. Each conference game will also be a doubleheader with the Men's game following the Women's game. Times will vary.
Mount Aloysius will look to build on their spring season, that saw a young roster, adding a group of talented newcomers to the mix.
