ALFRED, N.Y. -- A late first half goal was all Alfred State would need against the visiting Mount Aloysius women's soccer team, who fell 1-0 on Saturday afternoon at Pioneer Stadium.

How It Happened
- In the first half, both teams were even in shot attempts until the latter stage of the period, when Alfred State connected on a goal at the 43:49 mark.
- During the beginning of the second half, the Mounties attacked with several shots and then even a penalty kick opportunity but could not find the back of the net. Led by goalie Patten, Mount Aloysius played strong defense and held Alfred State scoreless during the period. However, the Mounties just could not get on the board, eventually falling by a 1-0 final score and dropping to 1-2-1 in the conference.Â

- The Mounties were not too far behind in shot opportunities, finishing with nine compared to Alfred State's 12.
- Mount Aloysius and Alfred State were also evenly matched in other categories, with corner kicks 4-3 in favor of Alfred State and then Mount Aloysius having one less foul, 8-9.
