Men's Soccer Scores Nine Goals, Dominates La Roche

PITTSBURGH, Pa. -- The Mount Aloysius men's soccer team had its most dominant performance of the season at La Roche University, scoring a flurry of goals to win 9-1 Wednesday afternoon.

Leaders 
- Tevin Beadle (Kingston, Jamaica, St. George's College) led the Mounties with two goals, bringing his season total to six. 
- Louis Bez (Bordeaux, France, Lycée Sainte-Marie de la Bastide) had one goal and one assist.
- Ryan Peddle (Tauranga, New Zealand, Tauranga Boys' College), Ethan Meader (Rayne, England, Colchester Sixth Form College), Brendan Geiger (Watsontown, PA, Warrior Run), Braden Callahan (Duncansville, Pa., Hollidaysburg), Liam Craw (Palmerston North New Zealand, Freyberg High School), and Luca Gray (Cheltenham, England, Balcarros School) all got in on the scoring, each contributing one goal.
- Chase Conway (Elysburg, Pa., Southern Columbia) and Daniel Irujo (Pamplona, Spain, Sagrado Corazon) both recorded an assist.

How It Happened

It only took Mount Aloysius approximately twelve minutes to find the goal, with Meader scoring on a pass from Bez. Then, at the 16:22 mark, Beadle took advantage of a penalty kick to increase the lead to 2-0. In the next six-minute span, the Mounties doubled the lead with Beadle striking again and Bez scoring as well for a commanding 4-0 advantage.
- The scoring continued when Callahan connected on a pass from Conway about 33 minutes into the game and then Craw scored just three minutes later. The Mounties held a 6-0 lead at the end of the half.
- La Roche got on the board in the second half with a goal at the 57:02 mark to make it 6-1. However, the Mounties quickly responded when Peddle scored on an assist by Irujo two minutes later. Mount Aloysius continued to dominate and added two consecutive goals from Gray and Geiger 79 minutes into the game. The Mounties won by a final score of 9-1 bringing their conference record to 4-0-1 and overall record to 6-7-2.

- Mount Aloysius' commanding performance was reflected in the shot disparity of 28 to La Roche's four.
- The Mounties had 10 corner kick opportunities compared to just one for La Roche.
