VALENCIA, Pa. -- The Mount Aloysius women's tennis team booked an AMCC playoff spot for the first time in three years with a resounding 9-0 win over host La Roche University at Lakevue Athletic Club on Saturday afternoon.

Kierra Mountain (Roaring Spring, PA, Central) dominated their first doubles match and then also won in singles.

Julia Davis (Mount Pleasant, Pa., Southmoreland ) and
Campbell McCann (Pittsburgh, Pa., Avonworth ) secured their team-leading fourth doubles win in the No. 2 position and followed up with singles victories.

Halle Clark (Williamsport, PA, Williamsport) and
Madison Hillard (Greenville, PA, Greenville) won their first collegiate match as a team at third doubles, and then earned forfeits by their opponents at the No. 5 and No. 6 singles flights.
How It Happened
- The Mounties sailed through doubles, only dropping one game in all three spots. Sines/Mountain and Davis/McCann defeated La Roche 8-0, while Clark/Hillard won 8-1.
- Mountain was the first to finish at second singles, blanking her opponent 6-0, 6-0. McCann was also perfect on the day, winning 6-0, 6-0 at fourth singles. Sines won in the top singles spot, 6-2, 6-0, while Davis beat her opponent 6-0, 6-2. La Roche forfeited at the fifth and sixth singles flights, resulting in a Mount Aloysius 9-0 sweep.
