CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. -- On Friday, the Mount Aloysius Women's Basketball team lost a close game, 60-56, on the road at Wilson.

Karissa Mercier (Freedom, Pa. / Freedom) led the Mounties with 13 points and four steals. She also added six rebounds.

Cameron Bates (Fort Pierce, Fla. / John Carroll) had a game-high, 11 rebounds and five blocks, to go with four assists.
- Sophomore,
Hailey Drutarosky (Freedom, Pa. /Â Sewickley Academy), also reached double-digits with 10 points.
How It Happened
- The Mounties scored the first basket of the game, on a layup by Drutarosky. They held a small advantage through the first quarter, leading by four points, twice, on their way to a 10-8 lead at the end of the quarter.
- Wilson managed to take advantage of a poor start in the second quarter by the Mounties, going on a 15-6 run, to grab a seven point lead. Mount Aloysius was able to tie the game at 28, following two baskets byÂ
Halle Rittenhouse (Mc Veytown, Pa. / Mifflin County) and a runner by Mercier. Two Phoenix free throws sent the game to the break, 30-28 Wilson.
- Mount Aloysius struggled in the third period, getting outscored 18-9, and watching Wilson lead by as many as 12 points. A layup right before the buzzer gave the Phoenix a 48-37 lead.
- To open the fourth quarter, Mercier caught fire, making her first three shots, including two three pointers, cutting the lead to 50-45. The Mounties cut the lead to two points on multiple occasions, but were unable to dig themselves out of the hole.
Into the Box Score
- Turnovers hurt the Mounties, as they committed a season-high, 32 turnovers. Wilson turned the ball over 21 times in the game.
- Mount Aloysius made all four threes in the contest, with three of them coming from Mercier.Â
Chloe Clemons (Kailua, Hawaii / Kalaheo) made the other lone Mountie trey, while Wilson did not make a single three.

- Mount Aloysius will resume their schedule, after Christmas, as they travel to Daytona Beach, Fla., to compete in the Florida Sunshine Shootout.
- The Mounties will have two games in the Sunshine State. They will take on the North Central (Ill.) Cardinals on December 27, before facing off with Worcester Polytechnical Institute (WPI) on December 29.
