PITTSBURGH -- On Thursday, the Mount Aloysius Women's Lacrosse team traveled to Pittsburgh, to take on Chatham in a non-conference matchup. The Mounties dropped the contest, 16-8.

How It Happened
- Mount Aloysius got the first marker on the board, when Lanier scored her first goal of the game, just 19 seconds into the game.Â
Katie Figinski (Abingdon, MD, Edgewood) won the draw control that started the play.
- Just over three minutes later,Â
Hanna Geissler (Irwin, Pa., Norwin) scored a goal from a free position shot. Geissler's goal was the first of her college career and it gave the Mounties a 2-0 lead.
- Chatham responded with the final four goals of the first quarter, giving them a 4-2 lead, heading to the second period.
- In the second quarter, Chatham scored the first four goals, extending their lead to six. scored her lone goal of the game, making it 8-3 Cougars, before Chatham scored the final two goals in the half. Chatham had a 10-3 lead at the half.
- After Chatham scored the first goal of the second half, Figinski scored, marking the fourth different Mountie to score a goal. Lanier followed that up a minute later, with her second goal of the game, making the score, 11-5 Chatham.
- The Cougars scored five more goals in the third quarter, giving them a 16-5 lead heading into the final period.
- Lanier scored her third goal of the game, on a free position shot, to tally the first marker of the fourth quarter. Chatham responded by scoring the only other two goals of the period, giving them an 18-6 victory.
Into the Box Score
- Mount Aloysius was edged by Chatham in shots, 28-20 overall, and 25-17 in shots on goal.
- The Mounties had one more successful clear attempt, 14-13, than their opponents. Chatham also committed 29 turnovers compared to 26 by Mount Aloysius.
