Aurora, N.Y. -- The Mount Aloysius Men's Volleyball team made a trip to New York state over the weekend, playing an AMCC Tri-Match on Saturday before competing against Wells on Sunday.

How It Happened
vs. Medaille
- Mount Aloysius had a rough first set, only scoring six points. Medaille scored 12 of the final 13 points to finish the set.
- In the second set, Medaille used an 11-2 run to get a solid advantage, finishing off the set, 25-14.
- The third set saw similar results, as the Mounties only put together one stretch of three or more points, falling 25-16.
vs. Geneva
- The Mounties fell behind early, 5-1, and could not over come it. They fell in the first set, 25-14.
- Mount Aloysius showed life in the second set, as the lead was never more than three points for either team. The Mounties also hit .286, with 12 kills and only two hitting errors. With the set tied at 22 after a kill by Park, the Golden Tornadoes used two kills and a Mountie error to score the final three points and win, 25-22.
- After expending energy in the second set, the Mounties fell behind quick in the third, 11-4. They didn't get much opportunity to cut into the lead, falling 25-13.
vs. Wells
- Sunday's match got off to a good start for the Mounties. They had 10 kills and only one error, en route to a 25-17 win, giving them a one set advantage.
- In the second set, after the Mounties cut the Express lead to 8-6, Wells ran off seven straight points, giving them a solid advantage before winning, 25-13, and tying the match.
- The Mounties kept the third set close, when a kill by
Solomon Vance-Ingua (Miami, Fla., Booker T. Washington)Â made the score, 18-17. Wells went on to score seven of the final eight points, sending the match to the fourth set.
- Wells jumped ahead, 11-4, in the fourth set and while the Mounties played them even the rest of the way, the Express finished them off, 25-18.
Into the Box Score
- Mount Aloysius did put together their best hitting performance, on Sunday, hitting .165 against Wells. However, they still hit negative in one set, with only three kills in the second.
- Serve Reception was also a problem for the Mounties, as their opponents held a 25-5 advantage in service aces, for the weekend.
