CRESSON, Pa. -- On Wednesday, the Mount Aloysius Men's Soccer team hosted Carnegie Mellon, in a non-conference matchup. The Tartans came into the contest ranked number eight in the United Soccer Coaches Rankings.

How It Happened
- Over the opening 25 minutes, the teams played even on the scoreboard. The Tartans however, held an advantage in scoring opportunities with four corner kicks and two shots on goal. In the 27th minute, a hard shot by CMU was stopped by Priestley, but it rebounded right to a Tartan player and he put it away to take a 1-0 lead. Priestley was forced to make one more save in the half, but the scored stayed 1-0.
- Carnegie Mellon scored the only two goals of the second half, the first coming in the 77th minute and the third coming in the 87th minute. While the Mounties had multiple scoring chances, they were unable to get any shots past the Tartan 'keeper, leading to the 3-0 defeat.

- The Tartans held an advantage in shots, 15-10, but more impactful was the 9-2 advantage in shots on goal.
- CMU also had six more corner kick opportunities than the Mounties.
