ALFRED, N.Y. -- The Mount Aloysius Women's Basketball team traveled to Alfred State on Saturday, where they came away with a 62-52 victory over the Pioneers. They improved to 2-4 in AMCC play.

Hailey Drutarosky (Freedom, Pa. /Â Sewickley Academy) led the Mounties with her first career double-double, and career-highs, with 17 points and 12 rebounds.

Karissa Mercier (Freedom, Pa. / Freedom) added 14 points, going 4-for-7 from behind the three-point line. She also dished out a game-high, six assists, tying her career-high.
How It Happened
- Mount Aloysius started the game out strong, scoring the first 11 points of the game and held the Pioneers scoreless through six-plus minutes. The Mounties made it through the rest of the quarter with a seven point lead, despite three three-pointers from Calesta Reigelman.Â
Molly Richards (Naples, Fla. / Naples) capped off the frame by getting fouled on a three-point attempt and knocking down all three free throws.
- In the second quarter, the Mounties struggled offensively and saw the Pioneers climb back to within one point, 27-26. The Mounties were held scoreless over the final 4:50 of the quarter.
- While the Mounties would surrender the lead in the third quarter, the Mounties would use a 7-0 run to take a six point advantage. They also ended the quarter with two layups, one byÂ
Chloe Clemons (Kailua, Hawaii /Â Kalaheo) and the other by Drutarosky at the buzzer, sending the game to the fourth quarter, the Mounties leading 46-39.
- The Mounties led by as many as 16 in the fourth quarter, outscoring the Pioneers 14-5 in the first five-plus minutes. While Alfred State would eventually cut the lead down to 10, it would be too much to overcome as the Mounties earned the 62-52 victory.
