Mounties Drop AMCC Home Opener to Pitt-Bradford

CRESSON, Pa. -- On Saturday, the Mount Aloysius Men's Basketball team played their first home AMCC contest of the 2022-23 season, as they hosted Pitt-Bradford. The Panthers got the best of the Mounties, in a 70-37 defeat for Mount Aloysius.

Leaders
- Jason Coronado (Orlando, Fla. / Ocoee) led the Mounties with seven points and seven rebounds.
- Will Hagwood (Willowick, Ohio / South) and Xavier Johnson (Nassau, The Bahamas / Queens College) each had six points and five rebounds, as well.

How It Happened
- Mount Aloysius fell behind 5-0 early and never caught up as Pitt-Bradford led for all 40 minutes, following a 1-0 lead prior to the tip.
- The Panthers led by as much as 12 in the first half, but both teams struggled mightily on offense, especially behind the arc. Both teams combined to go 1-for-21 from three-point range in the first period. UPB led the low scoring affair, 26-17, at the half.
- In the second half, things would not get better for the Mounties, as they shot an identical 29.7% in both halves. The Panthers outscored the Mounties 19-7 over the first 10 minutes and pushed their lead to 21 points.
- Pitt-Bradford won the second half, 44-20, dropping the Mounties to 0-2 in AMCC play.

- Mount Aloysius produced their worst offensive game of the season, with a season-low, 37 points. They shot their worst percentage from the field (29.7%), behind the arc (14.3%), and from the line (43.8%).
- Pitt-Bradford had three players in double-figures, while the Mounties did not have any double-figure scorers.
