Mounties Extirpate Bobcats in AMCC Semifinal

Cresson, Pa. -- Mount Aloysius men's soccer punched their ticket for the AMCC championship final with a 2-0 win against Pitt-Greensburg this Wednesday, November 1st.

How It Happened:

- The cold and snowy afternoon did little to slow Mount Aloysius early, as the hosts tallied eight shots in the opening twenty minutes of action.
- A deflected Gonzalo Terricabris (Catalonia, Spain, Garbi Pere Verges) shot attempt in the 21st minute would be followed in by Juan Camacho (Ibaque, Colombia, San Bonifacio de las Lanzas), who put the Mounties up 1-0 with just under 25 minutes left in the half.
- Pitt-Greensburg attempted to respond, earning their sole shot attempt in the half after 27 minutes of action.
- Three more Mountie shot attempts would close the half, with pace slowing as the game turned into a possession-focused, physical contest.
- Entering the second with a one goal lead, the Mounties earned a few good looks at the goal early, but were unable to convert in the opening minutes of the half.
- The Bobcats pushed back around the 60th minute, taking a solid shot on goal and forcing play back into the host's half of the field.
- Refocused, the Mounties earned a handful of shot attempts as the game maintained a physical back-and-forth play style.
- In the closing minutes of the game, the Mounties would score the dagger, with Camacho setting up Martin Donner (Stockholm, Sweden, Danderyds Gymnasium Studievagl) to take a 2-0 lead into the end of the contest.

Into The Box Score:

- Mount Aloysius earned eighteen shot attempts in the game, while Pitt-Greensburg tallied just two.
