CRESSON, Pa. -- On Saturday, the Mount Aloysius Women's Basketball team played their final home game of the season, as they hosted Alfred State in an AMCC matchup. The Mounties jumped ahead early and never looked back, winning 69-38.

Chloe Clemons (Kailua, Hawaii /Â Kalaheo)Â led the Mounties with a game-high, 19 points. She went 7-for-11 from the field, including 4-for-8 from behind the arc.

China Jenkins (Fort Myers, Fla. / Evangelical Christian School), had her fourth straight, double-double, scoring 16 points and grabbing 12 rebounds.

How It Happened
- Mount Aloysius could not have asked for a better start, with Clemons hitting a three on their first possession, just seven seconds into the ballgame. The Mounties continued the hot start, making their first four shots and opening up a 17-2 lead. They kept the pressure on, leading at the end of the first period, 23-7, and shooting 60% in the quarter.
- While the Mounties cooled off in the second quarter, they kept up the defense, limiting their opponents to just eight points. Jenkins matched the Pioneers in the period, scoring eight points by herself, as the Mounties opened up a 27-point lead at the midway point.
- Alfred State started out the second half strong, including a 10-0 run to cut the Mountie lead to 17 points. Mount Aloysius responded and finished the final five minutes of the quarter on a 10-3 run, to lead 55-31.
- Opening up the fourth quarter, the Mounties scored the first six points of the quarter to extend their lead to 61-31. They continued the strong defense throughout the period, outscoring the Pioneers, 8-7, allowing just the seven, fourth quarter points.
Into the Box Score
- Even with a strong offensive showing, the Mounties were even more impressive on defense. They held the Pioneers to just 23.6% from the field and a paltry, 1-for-15, from three-point range.
- Mount Aloysius had four scorers in double-digits, with Clemons, Jenkins, Richards, and
Karissa Mercier (Freedom, Pa. / Freedom). Alfred State did not have any players reach ten points.
