CRESSON, Pa. -- On Saturday, the Mount Aloysius Men's Volleyball game hosted a non-conference matchup against Hood College. The Mounties picked up their second victory of the season, besting the Blazers in three sets.

Matthew Franz (Johnstown, Ohio / Bishop Hartley) led the Mounties with a game-high, 10 kills.

Connor O'Mealia (North Chili, N.Y. /Â Churchville Chili), had a game-high, 20 assists and nine digs.
How It Happened
- In the first set, Mount Aloysius started fast, grabbing an 8-2 lead. They didn't slow down, scoring nine of the final ten points and winning the first set, 25-11.
- Hood gave the Mounties much more trouble in the second set, getting out to a 12-6 lead. With help from four Blazer errors, the Mounties scored six straight to knot the set score at 12. From there, the Mounties slowly took advantage and were able to finish the set off, 25-23.
- For the third and final set, the Mounties scored five of the first six, to lead 5-1. While the Blazers fought to get back to even, the Mounties maintained control and ultimately never trailed in the set, winning 25-19.
Into the Box Score
- The Mounties out-hit the Blazers, with 26 kills and a .183 percentage, while Hood paired 18 kills with 15 errors for an .038.
- Mount Aloysius also had nine service aces, while the Blazers registered six.

- The Mounties will head back into AMCC play, as they host Penn State Behrend, on Saturday.
- Saturday's game is part of an AMCC triple-header, with the Men's and Women's Basketball teams. Basketball will host Alfred State, with the Men's game at 1 p.m. and the Women's game at 3 p.m. Men's Volleyball will play at 6 p.m.
