Cresson, PA. -- Mount Aloysius Men's Volleyball hosted Thiel College on Saturday, April 8th, dropping the final conference game of the regular season to the visiting Tomcats 0-3.
Leaders
-
Matthew Franz (Johnstown, Ohio, Bishop Hartley) led the Mounties in kills with 11, while also picking up two service aces and an assist.

How It Happened
- Mount Aloysius maintained a steady control early in the first set, with Thiel finding themselves trailed or tied throughout the set until 24-all. The teams traded kills as the set went late, both unable to put together two in a row in the face of their opponents offense. Finally, it would be Thiel who would end the first, picking up a pair of kills to take the set 28-26.
- The second set was less hotly contested, with Thiel maintaining a comfortable lead from 10-6 onward, aided equally by their own offensive execution and the Mountie's struggles with errors. Despite a late game Mount Aloysius push to bring the set within five, Thiel would close the set off of two Mountie errors, 25-19.
- Back and forth throughout, the third set saw both teams trading the lead, each putting together four and five point runs to claw back from minor deficits. Despite somewhat consistent offensive efforts early on, the set would be decided by traded errors, with both teams tightening up as the third came to an end. Two attacking errors from Mount Aloysius would end the season for the Mounties, dropping the set 25-23.
