MIDDLETOWN, Pa. -- On Thursday, the Mount Aloysius Women's Volleyball team traveled to Penn State Harrisburg for a non-conference matchup with the Lions. After winning the first set, the Mounties fell in the final three and dropped the match, 3-1.

Molly Richards (Naples, Fla. / Naples) led the Mounties with a game-high, 20 kills. She also registered 20 digs.

Kadence Della Valle (Carrolltown, Pa. / Cambria Heights) had a game-high, 21 digs, to go along with two aces.
How It Happened
- Penn State Harrisburg started the game by grabbing a 5-3 lead, in part with help from five Mountie errors. Once the Mounties settled in, however, they scored six of the next seven points and took control of the set. They would eventually open up their biggest lead at 20-13. PSH attempted a comeback, scoring five straight points, but the Mounties finished off the set, 25-21, grabbing a 1-0 advantage.
- Over the course of the second set, the Mounties led four total times, all by one point, 1-0, 5-4, 24-23, and 26-25. In between the leads, they trailed by as many as eight points before battling back. At 26-25, a Mountie service error tied it up, then the Lions got a kill and a block to get the two-point advantage and tie the match at 1-1.
- Mount Aloysius never led over the rest of the match and were only tied once other than at 0-0. In the third set, they trailed by as many as 11 points and eventually fought back to a four-point disadvantage, but the Lions held on to win 25-20.
- The Mounties fell behind in set number four and were unable to recover. Penn State Harrisburg scored the first five points of the set and grew their lead to as big as 13 points, at 24-11. They ultimately won 25-13 and finished the match, 3-1.
Into the Box Score
- Penn State Harrisburg out-hit the Mounties on the day, including each of the three sets they won. The Lions hit .122 and the Mounties hit .032. In the fourth set, Mount Aloysius hit -.100, with just six kills and 10 errors.
- Mount Aloysius tallied more total kills than the Lions, but ultimately made 13 more errors in the contest.
