Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Mounties Tie Wildcats

CRESSON, Pa. -- Early scoring from both teams was matched with effective late-game defending when Mount Aloysius women's soccer hosted Penn College on Friday, September 1st.

Leaders
Natalie Despot (Hollidaysburg, Pa., Hollidaysburg) scored both Mountie goals in the contest, assisted by Grace O'Berry (Boonsboro, MD, Boonsboro) and Jordan Mason (Hagerstown, MD, St. Maria Goretti)
- Midfielder Jasmine Hinton (Huntingtown, MD, Huntingtown) and  freshman forward Brooke Thomas (Altoona, Pa., Altoona) each added two shots on goal for the Mounties.
- Goalkeeper Courtney Vought (Somerset, PA, Somerset) had seven saves across the game.

How It Happened
- It was the visiting Wildcats who opened the scoring, putting one past the Mountie defense with just 1:21 off of the first half clock.
- Wasting little time to respond, an O'Berry corner kick set up Despot for the first Mountie goal just five minutes later.
- Building on the momentum, Despot would score again just six minutes later, putting the Mounties up 2-1 with just 13 minutes off the clock.
- Penn College's 27th minute answer leveled the game, and a scoreless second half saw the result hold despite nine combined shot attempts.

Into the Box Score
- Mount Aloysius saw seven corner kick attempts to Penn College's two.
- The Mounties struggled with fouling, committing twelve to the visitors' seven.
