Yellow Jackets Top Mounties

CRESSON, Pa. -- Possession struggles plagued Mount Aloysius from the outset in Sunday's 4-1 loss to the visiting Waynesburg Yellow Jackets.

Leaders
- Freshman forward Sara Borlie (Kennett Square, Pa., Unionville) scored the Mountie's sole goal, assisted by Jordan Mason (Hagerstown, MD, St. Maria Goretti), who tallied the team's only other shot attempt.
- Goalkeeper Courtney Vought (Somerset, PA, Somerset) had 10 saves during the contest.

How It Happened
- Waynesburg gained early possession and maintained a frenetic pace of aggression on the Mounties' side of the field, tallying 10 shot attempts before the 21st minute.
- Attempt eleven found its target in the 25th minute, followed by further offensive pressure placed on the Mount Aloysius defense.
- Struggling to find offensive footing, a brief break in Waynesburg's defense set up a line for Borlie, who managed a low corner goal to level the game at 1-1 just before the close of the half.
- The second half opened with a more possession focused Mountie game plan, slowing the Yellow Jacket's pace from its early-game pace.
- A 57th minute Waynesburg goal was followed by five more shot attempts, eventually answered with Mount Aloysius's second and final shot attempt of the game.
- The Yellow Jackets picked up two more goals in the final 15 minutes of the match, defeating the hosts 4-1.

Into the Box Score
- Mount Aloysius recorded just two shots compared to their opponents' 26.
- The Mounties possession woes were recorded in corner kick tallies, having one compared to Waynesburg's 14.
