CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. -- The Mount Aloysius Women's Soccer team traveled to Wilson, on Wednesday, for a non-conference matchup against the Phoenix. Wilson (5-2-1) did not allow a goal and scored twice in each half, downing the Mounties, 4-0.

How It Happened
- Mount Aloysius started attacking quickly, tallying a shot and three offsides in the first five minutes of the game. However, Wilson scored first, in the 11th minute, to take a 1-0 lead.
- Shortly after the first Phoenix goal,Â
Katie Figinski (Abingdon, Md. / Edgewood) had the only shot on goal in the first half for Mount Aloysius but did not score. Wilson added three more shots on goal, before the end of the first half, and found the net on the final one, taking a 2-0 lead in the 40th minute and heading into the locker room with the lead.
- On the first shot of the second half, Wilson's Halley Shaffer scored to give the Phoenix a 3-0 lead. The goal was her second of the game.
- Shaffer added a third goal in the 61st minute, putting the Phoenix comfortably ahead, 4-0. Mount Aloysius was only able to register two shots on goal in the second half, both of which were saved, leaving the final score at 4-0, Wilson.

- Wilson out-shot the Mounties, 11-7, over the course of the game, including a 6-3 advantage in shots on goal.
- Mount Aloysius did have more corner kick opportunities, with four total chances in the match. Wilson had two, both of which came in the first half.

- Mount Aloysius is set to open up AMCC competition, on Saturday, when they host Alfred State at 2:00 p.m.
- Alfred State is currently 1-4-1 on the season and have lost their last three games. They lost to Penn College, 6-1, on Saturday and lost to St. John Fisher, 6-0, on Tuesday.
- The Mounties have a 3-1 advantage in the all-time series, after splitting the two matchups, last season. This will be the first meeting in Cresson since 2019.
