CRESSON, Pa. -- On Saturday, the Mount Aloysius Women's Volleyball team hosted Saint Vincent, as part of a non-conference tri-match. They also played Pitt-Greensburg in a JV Game. The Mounties (3-10) used everything they had to beat the Bearcats (5-6) in four sets and end their losing streak.

Mackenzie Barr (Pittsburgh, Pa. /Â Shaler)Â had a career-high, 21 kills, to lead the Mounties. She .581 and only committed three hitting errors.

Molly Richards (Naples, Fla. / Naples)Â added another double-double, with 15 kills and a career-high, 32 digs.

Emma Colyer (Orlando, Fla. / Olympia), dished out a team-high, 23 assists.
How It Happened
- Mount Aloysius grabbed a quick lead in the opening set and gradually stretched that out, leading by as many as 10 points, 20-10. The Bearcats came storming back, scoring 11 of the next 13 points and cutting the lead to 22-21. After trading points, a Bearcat error and a Barr kill gave the Mounties a 1-0 set lead.
- Set number two started similar to set number one, with the Mounties jumping out to an early lead, this time they led 13-4, with the last two points coming on two consecutive aces by
Maddie Myers (Altoona, Pa. / Bishop Guilfoyle). While they never tied the score, Saint Vincent cut the lead to one point at multiple times, but ultimately fell and Mount Aloysius took a 2-0 lead.
- In the third set, Saint Vincent grabbed the lead this time, scoring seven of the first eight points. Mount Aloysius stormed back tying the set at 11. The Bearcats kept a hold on the score, never trailing but leading by no more than three points. Their last three point lead came at 22-19. From there, the Mounties tied the score at 22 and began one of the best stretches of volleyball as the score rose to 32-32 with both teams trading the lead back and forth. Unfortunately for the Mounties, Saint Vincent had two straight kills and won the set 34-32.
- Neither team grabbed an early advantage in the fourth set, trading points and the lead all the way to 10-10. From there, Saint Vincent scored eight out of nine and looked like they would even the match, leading 18-11. However, Mount Aloysius scored nine of the next ten points and powered ahead, 20-19. They traded the lead again and Mount Aloysius scored six of the last seven points to win the match, 3-1.
Into the Box Score
- Mount Aloysius hit .181 on the day and had 59 total kills. Their 59 kills is a season-high. The Mounties also out-hit the Bearcats in three of the four sets.
- Each team had 13 total aces, while Saint Vincent had a 8-6 advantage in blocks.
