CRESSON, Pa. -- The Mount Aloysius Women's Volleyball team opened up the home portion of their schedule, on Wednesday night, as they hosted Geneva. Mount Aloysius showed fight, but fell 3-0 in the contest.

Kadence Della Valle (Carrolltown, Pa. / Cambria Heights) led the Mounties on the defensive end with 18 kills. She also had a game-high, three service aces.

Joelle DeLattre (Duncansville, Pa. /Â Hollidaysburg) had a team-high, five kills, to go with a block.
How It Happened
- Mount Aloysius fell behind quickly, 4-1, and would eventually be behind, 11-3. The Mounties fought their way back to cut the lead to three, at 20-17, following kills by DeLattre and
Madison Johnson (Hopewell, Pa. / Northern Bedford County). Hanging tough, they had the deficit to three again at 24-21, but a Geneva kill finished off the set at 25-21.
- Another early struggle doomed the Mounties in the second set. This time they fell behind 7-1 and cut it to 11-7, but were unable to get it any closer and falling 25-19.
- In the third set, Mount Aloysius started much better, jumping out and scoring the first two points. They controlled the first 20 points and led 11-9, midway through the set. Unfortunately, Geneva scored nine of the next 11 points and grabbed an 18-13 lead. Down 21-15, the Mounties did put together a 5-1 run and get within two points, 22-20. It was too late though, as Geneva scored the final three points to win the game, 3-0.
Into the Box Score
- Geneva held a massive advantage in the hitting column, with 44 kills and a .226 percentage. Mount Aloysius only had 21 kills and hit .067 for the game.
- While Mount Aloysius had their best set in the first, with 11 kills, they only had 10 kills in the final two sets combined and committed eight errors.

- Mount Aloysius will travel south to Maryland, this weekend, as they visit McDaniel for a tri-match.
- The Mounties will play Goucher on Friday night, before playing SUNY Canton and McDaniel, on Saturday.
