ERIE, Pa. -- The Mount Aloysius men's soccer program concluded their 2024 campaign with a loss to Penn State Behrend in this year's AMCC tournament semifinal.
The eventual overtime thriller would be punctuated with equivalent box scores from both programs, as each team would record nine shots, with four on target, across the ninety minutes of regulation play. Both teams would defensively hold through the first half, weathering five shots from the opposition to enter the second half scoreless.
The Mounties would earn the first goal of the game, with a

Juan Camacho (Ibaque, Colombia, San Bonifacio de las Lanzas) tap in, putting the visitors up 1-0 with 25 minutes to play. Despite two other good looks for the Mounties, Behrend maintained the one goal separation into the 83rd minute, where the Lions would find the back of the net off a deep shot, leveling the contest at 1-all. The Mounties would find themselves on the back foot, but close regulation strong, defending against a Behrend shot attempt and two corners to send the game to overtime.
The first ten-minute period of golden-goal overtime would be all that was required, as Behrend would break through the Mounties' back line in the 96th minute, converting a cross to end Mount Aloysius's season. The Mounties conclude the year with an 11-5-2 overall record, and a 6-1-1 record in conference play.
