NORTH BOSTON, N.Y. -- On Tuesday, the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) released their All-Conference awards for Women's Lacrosse. Mount Aloysius seniors,
Katie Figinski (Abingdon, Md. / Edgewood) and
Courtney Vought (Somerset, Pa. / Somerset), were both named to the First Team, while Vought also received the Defensive Player of the Year Award.
Vought was a four-year impact player for the Mounties, on defense, which resulted in her being named the AMCC's Defensive Player of the Year. 2024 is the third time in her career that Vought has been named First Team All-Conference. She was selected to the NEAC/United East First Team in both 2021 and 2023, before the AMCC sponsored Lacrosse. Vought finished the regular season ranking 10th in caused turnovers, 9th in draw controls, and 14th in ground balls, showing her versatility all over the field in the AMCC. She will depart the program as one of the most decorated players and high on all the career lists, with 86 caused turnovers, 113 ground balls, and 45 draw controls.
Figinski was selected to the All-AMCC First Team at the attack position, leading the Mounties in both goals and assists, as well as draw controls. With her three goals and one assist in the Championship game against Wells, Figinski also set new single-season program records for goals and points. She currently owns all the offensive career program records, over the course of 47 career games. She tallied 41 goals and nine assists in 2024, with six of her goals being game-winning. She also grabbed 73 draw controls and caused 12 turnovers.
Mount Aloysius produced their first winning season in program history, in 2024, as they finished 7-6. Their seventh win was also the first postseason victory for the program, as they beat La Roche in the AMCC Semifinal, 12-8. The Mounties fell to #1-seed, Wells, on Saturday in their first AMCC Championship appearance in program history.
