CRESSON, Pa. -- The Mount Aloysius Athletic Department is happy to announce the hiring of
Courtney Vought ('22, '24), as the new Head Women's Lacrosse Coach. She will take over for
Adam Sprague, who served as the Interim Head Coach over the past two seasons.
"We are very excited to have Courtney join our department as the Head Women's Lacrosse Coach," said Athletic Director Kevin Kime. "She has been a positive influence on campus over the last five years. I am sure that she will continue to make a high-quality impact while leading our Women's Lacrosse program."
Vought is no stranger to the Mountie Lacrosse program, having been a member of the program since its first contest in 2020. She started 45 games in her career and concluded her career by being named First Team All-AMCC and the AMCC Defensive Player of the Year. Vought was also named First Team All-Conference as a defender in 2023, while the Mounties competed in the United East Conference.
As a student at Mount Aloysius, Vought also competed on the Women's Soccer team as a goalie for five seasons. She played in 40 games for the Mounties, while starting 23.
"I would like to thank President McKeegan, Coach Kime, and Coach Baker for the opportunity to be able to come back and coach for a program that means a lot to me," said Vought. "I am excited to get to work alongside the coaches who have inspired me throughout my years as a student-athlete. I am really looking forward to getting to coach this special group of talented, hard-working women and see where this program will go in the future."
Vought will inherit a program that had its first winning season in 2024, going 7-6. The team also made its first-ever appearance in a conference championship game. The program started in 2020, just before the inaugural season was cut short due to the COVID pandemic.
Vought earned a Bachelor's degree from Mount Aloysius in 2022, majoring in Business Administration. She would stay and graduate with a Master's degree in Business Administration in May 2024. Over her five-year career, she was named to the AMCC Academic All-Conference team every year as a Peak Performer. Vought is a native of Somerset and a graduate of Somerset High School.
