CRESSON, Pa. — The Mount Aloysius women's soccer team dropped a 3–0 decision to visiting Alfred State on Saturday afternoon at Kelly Field in an Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) matchup.
The Mounties (3–6–3, 1–2–1 AMCC) celebrated Senior Day, honoring seven seniors before kickoff. The Pioneers (8–4, 4–0 AMCC) wasted no time getting on the scoreboard, finding the back of the net in just the second minute of play. Alfred State added another goal in the 11th minute to take a quick 2–0 lead.
Despite a physical effort from Mount Aloysius throughout the match, the Mounties were unable to break through offensively. They recorded 12 shots on goal but were held scoreless by the Alfred State defense. The Pioneers capped the scoring with a third goal in the 84th minute.
Mount Aloysius will return to action on Wednesday, Oct. 14, when they travel to Pittsburgh to face Carlow in another AMCC contest.
