October 13, 2025 - The Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) has announced its Athletes of the Week selections in the sports of men's & women's soccer, cross country, women's volleyball, and women's tennis for the period running from October 6-12, 2025.
The Mounties received two awards this week as
Gonzalo Terricabris (Catalonia, Spain, Garbi Pere Verges) was named men's soccer Offensive Player of the Week and
Madison Barr (Pittsburgh, Pa., Shaler) was named women's volleyball Defensive Player of the Week. With winning the award, it's Terricabris's third time winning it this fall and Barr's second time.
Terricabris takes home the award after scoring a goal in each of the Mounties' games this past week as they went 1-0-1. Terricabris recorded one goal on two shots in a 6-1 win over PS-Altoona, then recorded another goal in a 2-2 tied against Alfred State, registering seven shots on goal in the two contests.The senior also leads the AMCC in points (23) and T-1st for goals scored (9).
Barr led the Mounties to a 2-0 record in conference play last week with wins over Penn State Altoona and Alfred State, the two teams that squared off in the AMCC Championship last year. Barr recorded 39 digs (5.57 digs per set) and collected 25 receives without committing an error. The junior is third in the AMCC in digs (315) and second in digs per set (4.92).
Both teams take on Carlow in their next contest. Men's soccer will play Carlow (2-8, 0-4 AMCC) tomorrow at Highmark Stadium in Pittsburgh, PA. Kickoff will be at 5:15. Women's volleyball will travel to Carlow (6-11, 1-0 AMCC) on Wednesday for a conference matchup that will begin at 7 PM.
