CRESSON, Pa. — The Mount Aloysius women's soccer team controlled play from start to finish on a cold, rainy Wednesday night at Kelly Field, but despite a dominant performance, the Mounties were forced to settle for a 0-0 draw with La Roche in Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) action.
Mount Aloysius (4-6-4, 2-2-2 AMCC) dictated the tempo throughout the match, outshooting the Redhawks (4-6-2, 2-2-2 AMCC) by an 18-4 margin, including a 10-3 advantage in shots on goal. The Mounties also earned five corner kicks compared to just one for La Roche, consistently keeping pressure in the attacking third.
The Mountie defense remained solid all evening, limiting La Roche to only four total shots while recording their fourth shutout of the season. McKenna Meadows (Lewisburg, PA, Lewisburg) made three saves, while the back line helped deny any quality chances from the Redhawks.
Despite the result, the Mounties showed composure and grit in difficult weather conditions.
