Cresson, PA – The Mount Aloysius Mounties (3-5-3, 1-1-1 AMCC) and the Penn State Altoona Lions (3-4-4, 0-1-2 AMCC) played to a 0-0 draw on Wednesday night in a tightly contested AMCC matchup at Kelly Field.
Both sides entered the evening looking to gain ground in the conference standings, and the intensity was evident from the opening whistle. Possession was evenly split throughout the match, with neither team able to gain a clear advantage in the midfield.
In a game defined by defensive discipline and physical play, quality scoring chances were limited. The Mounties managed three shots on goal, while the Lions registered two, with both goalkeepers standing tall and recording clean sheets.
The back lines for both teams were standout performers, consistently turning away attacking threats and keeping the game locked in a scoreless stalemate. Despite the lack of goals, the match was a showcase of grit and determination on both sides of the pitch.
With the draw, the Mounties move to 1-1-1 in AMCC play and will look to build momentum this weekend as they continue their conference schedule. Mount Aloysius is set to host Alfred State on Saturday at 1 PM, once again on Kelly Field.
