CRESSON, Pa. — The Mount Aloysius women's soccer team's 2025 season came to a close Saturday afternoon with a 2–1 loss to Penn State Altoona in the first round of the AMCC Playoffs at Kelly Field.
The Mounties struck first in the 28th minute when Sara Borlie (Kennett Square, Pa., Unionville) found the back of the net for her second goal of the season, giving Mount Aloysius an early advantage. Penn State Altoona answered with two goals later in the first half to move ahead 2–1, a score that held through the final whistle.
Mount Aloysius continued to press in the second half, outshooting the Lions 9–7 overall and 6–3 in shots on goal. Despite several strong looks at goal, the Mounties couldn't find the equalizer in the closing minutes.
The Mounties finish the season with a 5–8–4 overall record and a 3–3–2 mark in AMCC play — an improvement from last year's 5–11–2 campaign. Under first-year Head Coach Tyler Sisler, Mount Aloysius showed clear growth and earned a conference playoff berth while establishing a strong foundation for the program's future.
Saturday's contest also marked the final appearance for the Mountie senior class, whose leadership and dedication have been instrumental to the team's continued progress.
