WOOSTER, Ohio — The Mount Aloysius Mounties opened their season Friday night in the Nan Nichols Classic, falling 86–69 to host Wooster at Timken Gymnasium.
The Mounties (0–1) traded early runs in a fast-paced first quarter, hanging within 25–20 before Wooster used a second-quarter surge to create separation. Mount Aloysius battled throughout, closing the gap multiple times in the second half behind steady shooting and a strong presence on the glass, but the deficit proved too large to overcome.
Molly Kosmack (Homer City, Pa., Homer-Center) powered the Mounties with a 16-point, 16-rebound double-double, dominating the interior. Annalyn Isaacs (Harmony, Pa., Mars) added 16 points, including four 3-pointers, while Brionna Brown (Cranberry Township, Pa., Seneca Valley) contributed 14. Mount Aloysius shot 37.3% from the field and 75% at the line, producing 14 second-chance points and forcing 19 turnovers with 10 steals.
