Kosmack Earns All-Tournament Honors as Mounties Fall at Wooster

Box Score

WOOSTER, Ohio — Mount Aloysius couldn't overcome a difficult first half Saturday, falling 82–64 at Timken Gymnasium despite a standout performance from Molly Kosmack, who was named to the All-Tournament Team.

The Mounties (0–2) trailed by 20 at halftime after their opponent used a pair of extended runs to take control across the opening two quarters. Mount Aloysius steadied itself after the break, matching its opponent nearly point-for-point over the final 20 minutes, but the early hole was too large to erase.

Molly Kosmack (Homer City, Pa., Homer-Center) anchored the Mounties on both ends, finishing with 18 points, 12 rebounds, four assists and five blocks while shooting 7 of 14 from the field. Annalyn Isaacs (Harmony, Pa., Mars) added 14 points, and Taylor Doyle (Blanchard, Pa., Central Mountain) contributed eight off the bench. Mount Aloysius also received six points each from Ashlie Weaver (Schellsburg, Pa., Chestnut Ridge) and Haley Ross (Three Springs, Pa., Southern Huntingdon).

The Mounties went 19 for 23 at the line and scored 32 points in the paint, but 27 turnovers turned into 24 points the other direction, widening the gap.

Mount Aloysius returns to action Tuesday, traveling to Saint Vincent for a 6 PM tip-off.
